Nikki started writing poems in 2004 when she lived on a blustery Hebridean Isle. Some of these then made shy appearances in the small press and online and were aired too like knickers on lines among friends... Here then are poems that wink with a surreal and often irresistible glint. Poems about slugs, alien babies, stroppy eggs and pregnant toads. Poems about family, fertility and love.

" Thank you very much for sending these poems, and for your patience in waiting for my comments.  This has enabled me to read your work daily for a fortnight.  During these repeated readings, I continued to find the poems deeply absorbing... I was completely fascinated by these poems.  I read many poems which I think are good, and some which I consider distinctive.  But your work seems to me original.  This is truly rare: an unforced gift..."
